The Basel AML Index 2017 edition covers 146 countries and provides risk ratings based on the quality of a country’s framework for AML, countering terrorism financing (AML/CFT) and related factors such as perceived levels of corruption, financial sector standards and public transparency.

The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision has finalised its revisions to the annex on correspondent banking. This document sets out guidance in respect to general obligation of banks to “have adequate policies and processes", including strict customer due diligence (CDD) rules to promote high ethical and professional standards in the banking sector and to have sound risk management programmes in place to address all kinds of risks, including ML and FT risks.
